After 35 Mom, Tiffany Bachand, found out at 5 months of pregnancy that her daughter would be born with Down Syndrome and had 3 holes in her heart. Her precious baby girl, Amelia, was born at 34 weeks, weighed 3lbs 10oz and spent 2 weeks in the NICU. When Amelia was 5 months old, she had open heart surgery at Boston Childrens Hospital. Two holes were repaired, but the third was tiny and closed on its own. After her surgery, she spent 5 weeks at Boston Childrens due to fluid around her heart that had to be drained on two occasions. Finally, in September 2014, she was on the road to recovery.
Amelia is now 16 months old, healthy and happy! In April they saw her amazing cardiologist, Dr. Kane, at UMASS Medical and he said, “See you in a year! She’s doing amazing!”…Tiffany cried with joy ♡
Congrats, Tiffany! Amelia is beautiful, and we are so happy she is doing well! Keep us posted!
